Women In Surety (WIS) was created in November 2016 to form the first cohesive group for women in the surety industry to fill an industry gap, bring great minds together for support, mentorship, and intellectual challenge, and to provide networking opportunities with industry professionals.

In January 2017, a Board of Directors was formalized, consisting of senior surety representatives from all constituencies (surety companies and brokers in both the contract and commercial surety spaces). By March of the same year, the group hosted its first event.

We continue to grow our membership with regularly planned educational and networking events, along with a mentorship program. While we began in the Northeast, we look to expand nationally and present opportunities for surety women everywhere.
